Pre-Shipment Warehouse Inspection
Goods are packed — one last gate before the container, so damp cartons do not go to sea
Short answer
Stage 3 is the last checkpoint after production humidity is in range. Goods can still pick up moisture in storage. We re-test the warehouse and packed cargo, issue a pre-shipment mold risk report (PDF), and specify container desiccant pole quantity and hanging points. The aim is simple: confirm this lot is fit to sail.
When this inspection is required
- 🚢 Ocean loading is scheduled — especially long routes to South America, Africa, or the Middle East
- 🌧️ Rainy-season shipments — warehouse humidity often rises while goods wait
- 📦 Goods have sat more than 7 days — cartons can reabsorb moisture
- 🔍 The brand asks for shipping files — a final-check record is needed
- ⚠️ A previous container had rain or musty odor — reload the drying plan from measured data
- 🏭 A temporary or 3PL warehouse — storage was not covered by the Stage 1 audit
Inspection flow
Confirm the shipment lot
Volume, destination, sailing time, and sample rate — used to set the desiccant tier.
Re-test the warehouse
Multi-point temperature and humidity; look for new leaks, dead-air corners, or goods against walls.
Final cargo moisture check
Re-test the same nine form parts: vamp, midsole, lining, outer carton, inner box, baffle paper, toe-cap paper, shoelace, wrap/copy paper. Flag lots that re-wet or move up a grade.
Issue the risk report
PDF with photos: ready to load / needs drying / do not load.
Container loading guidance
Pole quantity and hang points by route; last in-box chip count check.

- • This check does not replace container desiccant poles — sea temperature swing is a separate risk
- • The report is for the test day — re-test after heavy rain or a warehouse move
- • Arrival mold cannot be guaranteed at 100% — mid-voyage handling is outside this stage

What does the pre-shipment warehouse inspection cover?
Four checks: warehouse climate, cargo re-wetting, stacking clearance, and container pole plus chip pairing. You receive a PDF risk report and loading guidance.
How early should we book the inspection?
1–3 days before planned loading. Too early misses later moisture pickup; too late leaves no time to dry or re-pack.
Can the report go to the brand or freight forwarder?
Yes. It can travel with shipping documents. Re-test if conditions change on loading day.
Does this inspection replace container desiccant poles?
No. The inspection clears the factory gate; poles manage container rain at sea.
